Patrick had a big awakening when he went from a lifelong athlete (a former competitive tennis player) to almost entirely sedentary when he started his desk job. Patrick Samy was building consumer products for Microsoft when he noticed that his 10-hours-a-day desk job was taking a toll. While he could monitor his health with various wearables, he struggled to analyze the metrics and implement them in a meaningful way — and he knew he wasn’t the only person with this problem. Through collaboration with MD Adam Bataineh, he created Span, a company that analyzes data from wearable technology to maximize health potential and help people live their best lives for as long as possible.
