Hardeep K Kataria, OD, FAAO is a graduate of the New England College of Optometry in Boston. She then completed her residency at the Baltimore VAMC in Ocular Disease. She had the privilege to train with top optometrists and ophthalmologists at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami and Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University. She is passionate about medical eye care and has had specialized training in managing advanced dry eye disease, glaucoma, diabetes, uveitis, red eyes, post-surgical eye care and more. Dr Kataria is an active Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and loves to teach colleagues through writing and lecturing nationally. She currently serves as an Advisory Board Member of Women in Optometry and Editorial Board Member of several optometric publications.
Driven by her motivation to educate, teach and give back, she volunteered in Nicaragua and Panama through Vision Optometric Humanitarian Services (VOSH), providing vision care and glasses to the underprivileged communities. She also established a local volunteer eye clinic in Los Angeles in association with the Salvation Army and Rotary Club. She had the pleasure of serving as Adjunct Faculty at the Western University College of Optometry, teaching optometric doctorate candidates the fundamentals of identifying ocular disease in a community health center.
